ኦ/ ō [1]: name of God; ዖ አልፋ ወዖ/ o alpha and o.

[2]: (ንኡስ አገባብ) oh; woe, alas; what; woe is me. In mystery, a word of calling and wonder; a word of honor and love; a word of weeping and sorrow; a word of belittling and fear; a word of calming. See its meaning and evidence in its place (ዕር፳: ቍ፺፬).

ኦሄል/ ōhēl: (ዕብራ) tent; name of a tent.

ኦሆ/ ōhō: fixed particle; word of humility and obedience. Yes, good; okay; let it be; I will do it; its mystery is like an oath. “ወይቤሉ ኦሆ ናገብእ ሎሙ በከመ አዘዝከነ ከማሁ ንገብር።” And they said, oho, we will bring them as you commanded us, we will do so. “ኢትበልዎ ኦሆ ለፍትወቱ።” Do not say oho to his desire. “ኦሆ ብሂልየ ለመማክርትየ።” Oho, my saying to my advisors. “ኦሆ በሃሊት።” Oho, a speaker. “ኦሆ በልነ።” Oho, we said. “በእንተ ኦሆ ብሂሎቱ ወትሕትናሁ” Because of his oho saying and his humility (ነሐ፭: ፲፪። ሮሜ፮: ፲፪። አስቴ: ፫። ዳን፩: ፳። ያዕ፫: ፲፯። ፊልክ: ፻፳፱).

ኦሆሊባ/ ōhōlība: my tent in her; my tent. It says hala and ወሀሊባ/ holiba, leaving on; it is an omission. “ኦሆላ ሰማርያ፤ ኦሆሊባ ኢየሩሳሌም” Oholah Samaria; Oholibah Jerusalem (ሕዝ፳፫: ፩ –፬).

ኦሆላ/ ōhōlā: her tent; her tentness.

ኦሪታዊ/ ōrītāwī: of the Orit; Oritlike; Orit possessor; Jewish Felasha. “ኦሪታዊት ጠረጴዛ” Oritawi table (መጽ: ምስ).

ኦሪት/ Orit [1]: (ሱር ኦራይታ። ዕብ ቶራ። ዐረ ናሙስ። ጽር ኖሞስ) law; justice; commandment; ten words. Justice, common, middle. Law, that which says do not do, do not do. Commandment, that which says do, do. But the wise add news, light, hearing, mountain, monastery. “እስመ ኦሪት በሙሴ ተውህበት ለነ።” For Orit was given to us through Moses. “ኦሪትነኑ ትኴንኖ ለሰብእ።” Orit will judge men. “ታቦት እንተ ውስቴታ ኦሪት” The ark in which is Orit (ዮሐ፩: ፲፯። ፯: ፶፩። ዕብ: ፱: ፬).

: Book; name of a book; the five parts written by Moses or the five nations. “ኦሪት ወነቢያት ሰበኵ በክርስቶስ።” Orit and the prophets preached about Christ. “መምህረ ኦሪት።” Teacher of Orit. “ብሔረ ኦሪት” Nation of Orit (ሃይ፡ አበ። ግብ፭፡ ፴፬። አብጥ). Joshua, Judges, and Ruth, which are written alongside Orit, are books but are not called Orit; however, according to Geez custom, they are called Orit by their names. “ሰመንቱ በሓውርተ ኦሪት።” The eighth in the journey of Orit. “ኦሪት ዘኢያሱ።” Orit of Joshua. “ኦሪት ዘመሳፍንት።” Orit of Judges. “ኦሪት ዘሩት” Orit of Ruth.

ኦሪጋ/ ōrīgā: (ጽር። ዕብ አቆ። ሱር ያዕላ። ዐረ ወዕል) antelope; a type of bocher; horned, longhorned; see ብዕዛ/ biizan; it is one with this. But the wise call it ሠሥ ሠሣ / ses sesa. “ውዕላ ወኦሪጋ” Wula and origa (ዘዳ፲፬: ፭). The words werega and woriga come from this. Werega; bare, unloaded cattle. Woriga; a beautiful young woman.

ኦርቶዶክሳዊ/ ōrtōdōksāwī: the same as this; of the Orthodox side; Nicene; true; upright; without falsehood and error in his faith. “ይኩን ምእመነ ኦርቶዶክሳዌ።” Let him be an Orthodox believer. “ሃይማኖት ኦርቶዶክሳዊት” Orthodox faith (ፍ: ነ: ፵፫: ፪። ያዕ: ዘእል). Many people, especially those of ካራ/ Kara and ቅባት/ Qibat, whose culture and teaching are full of errors that contradict the Holy Scriptures, say they are Orthodox. (ሥላሴ ዘድንቆ ማርቆስ ኦርቶዶክሳዊ). “አርዮስ ወመምህሩ ላዕለ ሐዋርያት አመክነዩ ብሂለ ፍጡር ወልድ በቀዳማዊ ልደቱ፤ ለአጽድቆ ሕልም ነገሮሙ ከንቱ።” Arius and his teacher, above the apostles, reasoned that the Son was created in his first birth; to justify their empty words. Today they complete injustice in the measure of these two, while their paths are in his house, every man for his faith, anoints the name of three hundred. ኦርቶዶክስ/ ōrtōdōks: (ጽርእ) name of an assembly; the Nicene association; ortho, upright; dox, culture, thought, mind; it can mean glory, praise; in combination, it means upright faith; see ደኩስበተሪ/ Dekusbetrin. But the book says አርቶ/ arto instead of ኦርቶ/ ortho; it is a writing error.

ኦርያ/ ōryā: (ጽር ኦራያን) name of a building, beautiful, adorned, handsome. “የሐዲስመምራን እድምተሥን፤ ሠናይተ ሡራሬይሉታል” The new teachers have called it handsome of form (ግብ፫: ፪).

ኦርያሬስ/ ōryārēs [1]: (ዕብ ኦር ሔሬስ) sun; name of the sun; image of the sun; or, its brightness, its light, its horn, its tip; yares, its plate, its circle. See ቶማስ/ Thomas (ሔኖ፸፰: ፩). “ኦርያሬሰ ሰማይ ልብስኪ ወአሣእንኪ እብላ።” Oriyares of heaven, I will eat your clothes and your flesh. “ሰላም ለአንጣዎስ ለሃይማኖቱ ዘአጽደላ እምኦርያሬስ ወእብላ።” Peace to Antawos for his faith that shone from Oriyares and flesh. “እምታስግዱ ብርከ ለኦርያሬስ” If you bend your knee to Oriyares (ደራሲ። ስንክ: ነሐ፲፯። ኅዳ፬).

ኦኦ/ ōō: (ጽር ዖዖ። ዕብ ሆይ ሆይ። ዐረ ያያ) a word of shouting, lamenting, and crying; or uu woo woe woe; oh oh. “ኦኦ ጕዩ እምብሔረ ሰሜን” Oo go from the land of the north (ዘካ፪: ፮). But some books, due to writing errors, say aa; oa, or leave everything and say go. Saying ኦኦ/ aa or ኦአ/ oa instead of ኦአ/ oo is an error; leaving everything is called omission.

ኦፍ/ ōf: ዐዊፍ ዖፈ/ awif ofe.
